The purpose of the Celebrate Recovery ministry is to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the “8 Recovery Principles” and “12 Steps.” By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually and allow God to change us. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates a peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others.
As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving, and forgiving Higher Power – Jesus Christ, the one and only true Higher Power.
If you or anyone you know is struggling with any hurt, habit, or hang-up, then we invite you to join us. All are welcome. There is no cost. If you have children ages 4 to 12, feel free to bring them along to participate in our Celebrate Kids program at the same time. If you need transportation assistance, please call (860) 343-9443. Transportation is available within the Middletown and Meriden area.

The Road to Recovery Principles
Principle 1 – Realize I’m not God. I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and that my life is unmanageable.
Principle 2 – Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and He has the power to help me recover
Principle 3 – Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ’s care and control.
Principle 4 – Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God, and to someone I trust.
Principle 5 – Voluntarily submit to every change God wants to make in my life and humbly ask Him to remove my character defects.
Principle 6 – Evaluate all my relationships, offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others, except when to do so would harm them or others.
Principle 7 – Reserve a daily time with God for self examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life and to gain the power to follow His will.
Principle 8 – Yield myself to be used to bring this Good News to others, both by example and by my words
The Twelve Step Program
STEP 1 – We admitted we were powerless over our addictions and compulsive behaviors. That our lives had become unmanageable.
STEP 2 – Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
STEP 3 – Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God.
STEP 4 – Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
STEP 5 – Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being, the exact nature of our wrongs.
STEP 6 – Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
STEP 7 – Humbly asked Him to remove all our shortcomings.
STEP 8 – Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.
STEP 9 – Made direct amends to such people whenever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
STEP 10 – Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
STEP 11 – Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and power to carry that out.
STEP 12 – Having had a spiritual experience as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to others, and practice these principles in all our affairs.
